I think the previous owner has 14(?) days to respond to the email before it is automatically transferred.
#RING CUSTOMER SERVICE MAC#
The MAC ID is the unique identifier of the device. In order to expedite the process, have your proof of purchase handy if available, and a picture of the MAC ID (barcode) on the device you are attempting to set up. Include the company’s name, your name, and offer your assistance as soon as you answer the phone. Try to avoid scripted greetings as most sound artificial and inauthentic. If those options don't work you can contact Ring Customer support for help. Starting with the greeting, conversations over the phone must be sincere. If you purchased a Ring device from a private party or retailer and cannot set up that device because it already has an owner, first try to get in contact with the seller or return it to the retailer. While this email delivery is immediate, it can take previous owners some time before removing the device from their account.
#RING CUSTOMER SERVICE HOW TO#
If You Move Into a Home with a Ring Device that is Registered to the Previous Owner When you try to set up a device that's registered to a previous owner, an automatic email will be generated to the previous owner instructing them how to remove the Ring device. Has anyone else had this issue? I really wouldn't suggest telling customer service that you purchased from a 3rd party because they will not help you because they got no money from you. As soon as I told him where I had gotten it from he knew he was going to try and sell me one from there website and suggest I throw it away. The guy didn't even attempt to troubleshoot the problem. After figuring out how to set it up it hit me that these people are trained to tell you they can't help you if you didn't buy the ring from there website and to suggest buying one. So I searched a little more online for instructions and I was able to successfully connect the device which is on my door right now working flawlessly ?.

After giving him information about the device he tells me there's nothing he could do about it that the device is Defective and that I shouldn't have bought it from a third party and says I should buy another one from the website and that I'd get 35% off which is nice of him, so I thought. So I contacted customer service and the guy started asking me how I obtained it which I told him, he actually asked me 3 times.

I was in the middle of setting up the Ring Doorbell everything was going good until I couldn't get passed the part where you have to connect the device to your WiFi because I didn't know what I was doing. Second time I talked to a service agent was last night after buying a never opened doorbell from offerup.

Customer service guy was nice but in the end told me they couldn't help me because the way it was obtained and suggested that I buy one from the website, okay that's understandable. The first one I was trying to get the previous owner removed from the device because they had abandoned it after leaving there old home. So I've recently had 2 conversations with ring customer service.
